The Prairie Fire Marathon is a USATF Certified Race and a Boston Marathon Qualifier (Certification #KS13034TR). It is the RRCA State of Kansas Championship Marathon. The start/finish line is at 455 S. Wichita St., Wichita, KS 67202. The Prairie Fire Marathon is electronically bib timed. We will be using the BIBTAG chip timing system for both the start and finish of the race. Your race number is also your "chip" for timing. The Prairie Fire Marathon promises a fast and exciting course taking runners through the heart of Wichita. While on the course, runners are able to view Wichita’s exciting entertainment district as well as the beauty of some of the nicest residential areas the city has to offer.

2017 DSSW Buddy Walk and 5K
The Down Syndrome Society of Wichita is here to serve individuals with Down syndrome and their community including medical professionals, educators, supporters and of course families! We're dreaming big for Down syndrome and hope you will consider forming a team for this year's event or participating in the 5K event!
The Buddy Walk® is a one-mile leisure walk followed by lunch and fun activities! Over the past 13 years, the event has included bounce houses, clowns, music, dancing, games, face painting, basket drawings, photo booth, and much more! The purpose of the Buddy Walk ®is to help promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. It is an inspirational and educational event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.
Last year's Buddy Walk ®was a huge success! We had over 2,500 walkers and raised over $87,000! This fun family event would not be possible without our participants, donors, sponsors, and the dedication of our Buddy Walk®Committee. We are looking forward to a great day of celebration.
Tulsa Area Triathletes Chris Brown Tulsa DU
The Chris Brown Duathlon is a great introduction to multi-sport events for beginners. It is also a challenging opportunity for experienced and competitive athletes. The Chris Brown Duathlon includes a 5km road run, 25km road bike, and another 5km road run. The event is held at Mohawk Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The run course is fast and flat on a closed paved road within Mohawk Park. The bike course is relatively flat with only a few rolling hills along the city streets of Tulsa.

JCC Youth Triathlon
The Youth Triathlon at The J provides a fun and healthy opportunity to help children stay active this summer. By combining swimming, biking and running in one sport, participants benefit from well-rounded fitness workouts, enhancing their endurance and strength, and having a lot of fun!
The event is a fun way for children with wide ranges of experience, from novice to serious athlete, to participate individually or as part of a 2-3 person team. You won't want to miss food, music, fun and an award for every participant! The Youth Triathlon at the J is open to youth 4-17 years of age (NOTE: Per USA Triathlon Rules, the race age for an athlete is his/her age on Dec 31 of the year of the event).
Participants and parents are REQUIRED to attend a pre-race orientation session.
Participants will receive a participant packet, event T-shirt, course information, and tips on various aspects of the event.
Trot 4 Tots PJ 5K
Starting at Scenic Lake Shawnee, Shelter House #1 and continuing on the paths along Lake Shawnee back to the starting point. The course is USA Track & Field certified.
All Proceeds will benefit the TDC Learning Centers, Inc. Scholarship Fund to make early education accessible to as many families as possible.
Classic Rock 5K
Run or walk in the newest addition to the Run for the Rocks race weekend - The Classic Rock 5K. It will be held in Carey Park on the evening of Sat. Sept. 23 at 5:00 p.m. (5K WILL BEGIN NEAR THE HOME BUILDERS SHELTER BUILDING IN CAREY PARK). This family-friendly event is open to competitive speedsters, recreational runners/walkers, as well as strollers, wagons, and dogs on leashes. The flat, fast course is almost entirely on the running trail in Carey Park. You may choose to run with a family member who's planning to complete the half-marathon on Sunday, or you may want to simply participate in this great 5K as an individual. Enroll early and save. The event will be chip-timed, place awards will be given, and all those who complete the distance will receive a finisher's medal! All those registered will receive a race shirt.
Race 4 Freedom
Race for Freedom is a 5K run/walk on September 9th, 2017 organized by ICT S.O.S. to benefit a local organization in the fight against human trafficking. This year’s race will benefit the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center program which provides advocacy services to survivors of all sexual violence, including trafficking. Raising awareness and funding to stop human trafficking in Wichita.
We invite you to participate in this race by either walking, running, donating or volunteering in order to create real and lasting change in our city!

Kidzcope Good Grief 5K & Kids Run
The Kidzcope Good Grief 5K & Kidz Run is scheduled for a new date, time and place this year. The event will take place the morning of September 4, 2017 starting and finishing at Whole Foods Market at 13th and Webb. The 5K will be a chip timed event and will take runners through and around The Waterfront development to the east. There will be a kids run that will stay close to our new sponsor's location at Whole Foods. The event supports Kidzcope, a non-profit non-affiliated organization that provides peer support groups to children that have experienced the death of a loved one.

Hornet Hustle
Do The Hustle! Join us on Saturday, August 26th for our 8th Annual Hornet Hustle! Feel free to wear your 70's attire! This race is on a cross country course and is professionally chip timed by Timer Guys. All runners will receive a race keepsake and an event shirt (excludes cross country participants). This race is hosted by Abilene Elementary PTO, all benefits go to Abilene Elementary.

SCKMC Landrush
Start planning for the 2017 SCKMC Landrush! SCKMC’s third annual “extreme obstacle” style race will take place on August 20th, 2017 as a benefit for the hospital. Through the first two years the races have averaged 135 runners and approximately 300 spectators! Heats fill up fast so sign up early.
The event is fashioned after popular “extreme” races such as Warrior Dash, Tough Mudder, and Spartan Race. Races for 2017 will include multiple heats of a 5K (3.1 miles) track with 12 obstacles spread throughout, a 2K track with 6 obstacles for kids ages 8 - 14, and a new on-road/off-road obstacle course for cyclist.
Additionally, the event will also have an area for music/entertainment, food vendors, spectator seating, and entertainment for family members of all ages.
Finally, safety and security will be at the forefront of this event. In addition to the full medical services provided onsite through SCKMC’s emergency room, we will also have a first aid station located within the event itself.

10th Annual United Way Triathlon
Event distances included a 200-meter swim, 7-mile, bike ride and 2-mile run. Cost is $50 per individual or $90 per 3-person relay team. Registration is to 225 competitors.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Triathlon we will be adding a Junior Triathlon (ages 5 to 15). The Junior Triathlon will include a 100M swim, 3.5 mile bike ride and a .75 mile run. The Junior Triathlon will follow along the same routes as the adult triathlon. The cost to register is only $25 and includes a free t-shirt. Talk your child today and encourage them to start a tradition of fun, health, and competition and join the Junior Triathlon.
Event Overview
The bike ride and run are on live city streets with protected intersections. Participants will be staged in heats based on 200-meter swim time. Please be as accurate as possible when reporting times. Age groups will be determined based on number of registrations. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each division. The first place team will also receive recognition.
Event Regulations
- Bikers must wear an approved helmet during the bike portion of the event.
- No headphones will be permitted during the race.
- Bikes must have working brakes.
- No drafting will be permitted during the bike portion of the event.
Event Details
- All events will begin and end at the McPherson Water Park, 511 N. Lakeside Drive.
- The 200-meter swim includes a serpentine swim in the McPherson Water Park pool.
- Bikers will follow a 7-mile route on live streets starting east on Euclid, North on Maxwell, east on Northview until 17th Avenue and then retrace back through west Lakeside Drive.
- Runners will follow a 2-mile route on live streets starting west on Simpson, south on Hartup, east on Euclid, north on Charles, east on Simpson, north on Eshelman, west on Sharp and then loop southwest through west Lakeside Drive.
Haulin Balls 10K and 2 Mile
The races will be held in conjunction with El Dorado's Frontier Western Celebration.
SCHEDULE: . 7:00 AM: Registration Opens . 8:00 AM: Boot Skootin 1K . 8:30 AM: Haulin Balls 10K & 2 Mile.
Shirts & medals will be provided to all participants. Age group awards will be presented to top male and female runners in the 10K & 2 Mile. WINNERS MUST BE PRESENTED for awards, they will not be mailed.
Summer Stride Out
Summer Stride Out is a 5k and 1 mile fun run fundraiser for Andover High School and Andover Central High School with proceeds profiting the cross country and track programs. Join us for this 2nd annual community event to not only benefit the high schools but also celebrate the start of another upcoming school year. The family-friendly 5k run/walk will begin just outside Andover District Stadium and make a square around the community, running along the newly completed Redbud Trail. and finishing back on the track. Stick around for an evening of music, food, and prizes!
Packet pick up is Thursday, August 3 from 3-6 pm at FleetFeet Wichita East. Packet pick up is also available Friday, August 4 beginning at 5:30 pm at District Stadium.
TRiKC Longview Jr. Triathlon
The 25th Annual TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon features a new course that is faster, more tactical, and spectator friendly. We have slashed the individual entry fee by over 20%. Additional discounts are available for 2017 participants, families, and TRiKC members. We are proud to be part of the Midwest Youth Triathlon Series and the only event in the series in which participants can earn preme points on the swim, bike, and run. Kids ages 6 - 14 years old will swim in the Natatorium, bike, and run on a closed course, in this up and coming popular sport. Each participant will receive a participation medal and event t-shirt.

Come join us for the 38th annual Derby Firecracker Race on the 4th of July! Pick between a certified 4 mile course or a fast certified 1 mile course. Enjoy a looped course that begins and end in Derby's High Park. A cash reward to our fastest male and female runners in each race of $50.00 will be awarded as well as age group awards!

Aid Station Refreshments
An aid station will be at the 2-mile mark of the 4-mile race. Post race refreshments for both races will include bottled water, soda, fresh fruit including watermelon and homemade cookies from the kitchens of the expert bakers in our running club.

Heat Warning
High heat and humidity can be dangerous to runners. Therefore, make sure you drink plenty of fluids the morning of the race and at the aid stations. If you feel overheated or feel dizzy, seek aid.
Safety
Races are limited to registered participants only. No rollerblades, bicycles, skateboards, dogs are allowed. Noncompliance will result in disqualification. Course Marshalls will control traffic, but runners should use extreme caution. Slower participants and strollers are encouraged to begin toward the rear to avoid congestion and collision.
