The Gralon Rhys 5K - Race for Hope was established in memory of Gralon Rhys Kimble. It is a chip timed 5K & Family Mile Fun Run for all ages. It takes place on the first Saturday of November every year. The GR5K partners with Hope Family Orphanage in Nepal, Iglesias del Norte in Costa Rica, the Hatikva Project in Israel, and the Passion Center for Children in Malawi. 100% of the proceeds go to these organizations ministering both physically and spiritually to children with great need. Join us at Shawnee Mission Park on November 4th (or virtually from wherever you are) and take part in bringing true hope, love and physical help to orphaned and refugee children across the world. JM Collingwood Barn’s ‘Barn Rat Filthy 50 Gravel Race & Tour’
Come join us at the beautiful, historic JM Collingwood Barn for a day of riding the roads around the north fork of the Ninnescah River in southern Reno County!
We are an all-female team organizing this bike event and so proud of this unique property we operate. We hope to bring you a memorable day of exploring new roads, breaking personal bests, meeting new folks, eating a comforting homemade meal afterwards...all in a peaceful setting 3 miles west and 1.5 miles north of Pretty Prairie, Kansas.
The route will take you into the solitude and raw beauty of the Ninnescah River Valley. Think red dirt roads, massive cottonwood trees displaying their golden leaves for the fall season, rolling sand hills, grassland galore, and a great, big wide-open Kansas sky.
The roads in this part of Kansas range from hard pack and loose, small pea-sized sand to some stretches with deeper sand, that changes with rainfall amounts. It is a super fun challenge to find the lines on some of the roads. Flat and fast, red roller hills, some deeper sandy spots that may test your skills (either shift down and spin or dismount cyclocross style and go by foot), and wide open spaces to either cruise at your max speed or a take-it-all-in approach for the tour ride!
Registration fee includes a t-shirt, a weatherproof sticker for your vehicle, bike rack, etc. and a homemade post-ride chili/soup meal (meat and vegetarian options) made by volunteers from the Pretty Prairie Food Pantry Board and melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon rolls from Carolyn's Essenhaus in Arlington.
The top 3 riders of each race will receive a custom award created by talented, local artists. Stayed tuned to our Facebook group page for photos!
We are capping the event this year at 300 people, so keep that in mind as the months go by!
There will be 2 mobile SAGs roving the course, in case of an unexpected mechanical issue. One SAG will be at the 25 mile mark for food and water.
AND, you know how the line goes for the bathroom before the ride with porta potties? Well, hey, we're gonna make that whole ordeal go away with a luxury restroom trailer from Precision Plumbing in Cheney...all the comforts of home with 4 stalls...and hot and cold running water!! It's the little things in life!
To top it off, the largest barn in Kansas built in 1913 will be open to tour...it's a hidden gem and you'll be in awe of its architectural craftsmanship and unique beauty!
Spencer & Rains, a folk music fiddler duo will be sending you off at the starting line and sharing their music with you in the barn loft during your post-ride meal!
A portion of the registration proceeds will go to the Pretty Prairie Food Pantry Building Fund, a local non-profit 501-C(3) dedicated to providing food and essentials to the community of Pretty Prairie and the surrounding areas.

WELCOME TO OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY! Emporia Freedom Fest is a series of community events bringing together people of all ages to enjoy the outdoors, exercise, mingle and honor all Veterans and their families. This event provides annual charitable support to the Emporia All Veterans Memorial Park; the 137th 635th Regimental Scholarship Fund, North Lyon County Veterans Memorial Fund, and USD 252 South Lyon County Honor Flight program, and the KSARNG Enlisted Associations Programs.
2023 Updates
We are ready for you in 2023! Help us have another amazing year as we Run-Ride-Release-Ruck so we can Honor Veterans, the All Veterans Memorial Park and currently serving Service Members.
2022 was a fantastic rebound year! On site we had over 150 participants, several dozen virtual participants and over 80 disc golfers during perfect weather! Participants came from five states and we had virtual participants in two other countries!
We are already planning our 2023 event to be held the same Saturday in November (4 NOV) 2022. As of today we are planning on bringing back every event and activity but several will have some awesome updates.. Knowing our committee don't be surprised if we find a few new ways to keep you engaged for 2023! Registration will again go live on the 1st of July. The 5K and 10K Freedom Run is one of the flattest runs you will find in Kansas. The Course keeps to the flood plain south and east of the All Veterans Memorial Park. This event is approved by the KSARNG and the Norwegian embassy and is open to all service members, veterans and civilians. Combine them together and what do you get? Needing a bigger challenge? Try your hand at our multi-event Warrior Spur Challenge!
Try and earn your Auxiliary Member Order of the Spur Armor Spur from the 1-635th Armor Regiment. This event is our version of a triathlon with a taste of the traditional Cavalry/Armor Spur Ride Event (Never heard of a Spur Ride? Check it out online....) First time completers earn the silver spur while 5th time completers go for the Gold Spur. Truly hardcore competitors think long-term and upon completing their 10th event earn the legitimate Cavalry Stetson.
CARGILL FREEDOM FEST EXPO
To help celebrate our 20th year we are planning on MANY static displays and demonstrations from our regional military units, branches and service members. Plenty for family and friends to discover, get hands on and explore! We will also have many of our Sponsors, Vendors and some great local food on-site for those not competing in events or providing support. The Expo closes each year with a very popular event "the Storming of the Bridge" a WWII bridge clearing re-enactment hosted by the 101st Dog Company WW2 Re-enactment team.

The most important thing we do for this event (and why we hold it) is to honor our Veterans, their families and suport local organizaitons who serve and support our Veteran Community. Net proceeds for our events have provided over $100,000 the last nineteen years to the Emporia All Veterans Memorial Park, the 635th /137th Regiment Scholarship Fund for children of Unit Veterans; the USD 252 Honor Flight Program and the Enlisted Association of the Kansas National Guard. Stearman 5 Mile
Pack your bags (or just your running shoes) and prepare for takeoff! This 5-mile course runs on the runway at Stearman Field in Benton, KS. The Kids Trot is a non-timed, fun run for the little ones. Rewarding them with a race shirt, finishers medal, themed bib, and of course the post-race breakfast.

Start & Time Limit
100 Mile and 100K 6 AM start; 30-hour time limit. 50 Mile 7 AM start; 29-hour time limit. 50K, Marathon and 1/2 Marathon 8 AM start; 28-hour time limit. Turnaround (halfway point) cutoffs of 14 hours for the 100 Mile entrants, 13 hours for the 50 Mile entrants and 12 hours for the 50K entrants along with aid station cutoffs on the inbound leg of both races.

Course Description & Aid Stations
The Kansas Rails-to-Trails Extravaganza is run on the Prairie Spirit Trail and is a beautiful "rails-to-trails" course that runs through numerous quaint little towns.
The 100 Mile, 50 Mile and 50K course start at Celebration Hall in Ottawa with a short northbound out-and-back (100mile: approx 2mi, 50mile: approx. 4mi, 50K: approx. 1mi), then travel south to their turnaround (100mile: Iola, 50mile: Garnett, 50K: Richmond) and back north to the finish in Ottawa.
The 100K, Marathon, and Half Marathon start on the trail in Ottawa and will head south to their turnaround (100K: Welda, Mar: Richmond, 1/2Mar: Princeton) and back north to the finish in Ottawa.
The course is primarily on a crushed limestone trail, with asphalt paths as you travel through each small town. Manned and unmanned aid stations will be approximately every 5 miles (with no greater distance than approximately 6 miles) and the course is easily accessible to crew. It's a great event for first timers, as it's a flat and relatively easy course. It's also the perfect course for experienced runners wanting to set a PR. The atmosphere will be family friendly with plenty of places for your crew to hang out and relax while cheering you on. Pacers WILL BE allowed for the last half (approx.) of the event.
Aid Stations: Manned aid stations are fully-stocked with water, electrolyte drink & snack-type foods, unmanned aid stations with water only. Approximate distance between aid stations is 5 miles with no distance greater than a little over 9 miles between manned aid stations, all manned aid stations will have drop bag access..

Race headquarters is at Celebration Hall in Ottawa, KS. Packet pick-up and drop-bag (drop-off) will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday 10/27.

Awards
All runners completing their respective race distance, within the designated time limit, will be awarded a date and distance specific, custom designed belt buckle or medal.

There are several different hotels to choose from in Ottawa, KS, with none of them being any further than 10-15 minutes maximum from Celebration Hall (staging location).
For those who'd prefer to camp or sleep in their vehicle, the grass lot across from Celebration Hall is open for primitive camping / parking.

Lexi’s LAMB Foundation
Lexi's LAMB Foundation was formed in memory of Alexis Sparks to help children in local hospitals. Lexi's brief time on earth touched the lives of so many and her courage to keep fighting no matter what inspired so many more. Each year the foundation touches the lives of thousands of local children and their families. Whether it is something small like a sippy cup to something larger like a video game system to help distract the child during their hospital stay, our goal is bring comfort to the children while they are sick. Arkalalah 2 Mile
The Arkalalah 2-Mile Run will be held in downtown Ark City during the annual Arkalalah festivities. Pre-registration is held through the Ark City Rec until Friday before the race. Race day registration is at the Chamber Office breezeway on Saturday morning from 7:30-8:30 am. Cash prizes are awarded to overall and divisions winners. For additional information on the 2-Mile Run call the Ark City Rec office at 441-4300.
Maple Leaf Gravel Grind 70 Mile, 35 Mile, and 16 Mile
Saturday, October 28, 2023 will mark the 5th annual Maple Leaf Gravel Grind. We will offer 3 separate routes, a 16, 35 and 70 mile option that will highlight the beautiful fall foliage in and around Baldwin City, KS. Each rider will receive a custom glass and t-shirt included in their entry. All races will be timed by the Timer Guys.
Proceeds will be split between Prairie Paws Animal Shelter in Ottawa, KS and the Baldwin City Recreation Commission's scholarship fund.
For the 70 milers, we will offer a cash prize for the top 3 riders in each the male and female category:

Russell Stover Chocolates of Iola, KS will be hosting a 5K run on October 19th during Farm City Days! The race will begin at 8:00am with registration starting at 7:30am. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Wings of Warriors Cancer Foundation. This foundation provides relief to those diagnosed with cancer in Allen County. Event registration only costs $30.00 with a commemorative shirt included. Come on out and support your community while having a great time. We look forward to seeing everyone!
The fun run will begin on the NW corner of the square. From there, runners will travel North to E. Buchanan Street and turn East (Right). After 10 blocks they will then turn to the South (Right) on N. Cottonwood followed by a left turn to the East on E Carpenter Street. They will remain on Carpenter for 16 blocks followed by a turn to the South on Kentucky. After passing the new Iola Elementary school, they will then turn to the West (Right) on Monroe Street and come to a T in the road. Runners then turn to the South (Left) and continue until they hit the back side of Casey’s. At that point they will turn West (Right) until they come back to Cottonwood where they will turn North (Right). Remain on Cottonwood until they hit Hoffmeier Electric and turn West (Left) on Missouri Pacific Recreational Trail. Runners will remain on the trail until they come back to the starting road N. Washington, at which time they will turn South (Left) to the finish line.

Your help is vital in ensuring organizational success!
While we are celebrating those individuals with Down syndrome, this fundraiser is important in the health and vitality of the organization. We still have families who need access to learning series workshops to provide better care. We still have adults with Down syndrome who need art workshops to creatively express themselves. Parents still need a core group for bonding and growth opportunities. New parents still need access to books and resources to begin their journey. Summer programming is still important for siblings to engage in memorable summer learning experiences together. Expansion of services is still needed in order to provide value to those we serve, while filling missing needs in our community. Funds raised stay local and go directly to support the work of the organization.
Pathway Sponsors: We encourage area businesses to participate in the fun, while joining this important event! Pathway sponsors will receive a sign on the walkway featuring over 100 individuals along with their business, to highlight their support in a meaningful way!

Pathway Sign Submission
Each year, we celebrate the individuals we serve with their individualized pathway sign as we take the 1-mile path.
Pathway signs will be due no later than Sept. 22nd.

Coronado Heights 15K, 5K, 2 Mile, and 1 Mile
Coronado Heights Run:
The 15K is composed of a flat, scenic country-road course with Coronado Heights hill (1 mile running distance up a circular, rugged road) at the heart of the race, this is a demanding course; please train accordingly. Aid stations (water) and split times will be provided throughout the course. The starting line will be at the intersection of Main and Lincoln streets (race will head north on main); the finish line will in close proximity to the starting line.
Registration begins at 6:00am

The Run for the Roses held in Rose Hill, KS is said to be flat and fast with an out and back course ran along Rose Hill Road.
Medals will be given for the TOP 3 MALE AND FEMALE FINISHERS in each age division for each race. TOP MALE AND FEMALE FINISHER in the 5K race will receive a trophy. The awards will be given at the finish line immediately following each race.
Packets can be picked up Friday afternoon, October 13th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and the morning of the race in the Community Room.
FEES INCREASE BY $5 ON RACE DAY!!!!! Race fees do include a shirt. Sizes will be determined at online registration.

We're looking forward to another exciting year on the Fast, Flat, and Fun Prairie Fire Marathon course! All races are presented by Davis-Moore Auto Group.
The Prairie Fire Fall Marathon Start/Finish Line is at 650 E. 2nd St, Wichita, KS 67202. The Prairie Fire Marathon events are electronically bib timed. We will be using the MyLaps chip timing system for both the start and finish of the race. Your race number is also your "chip" for timing.
Start Time: 7:30 am
Prices include race fees, tri blend event shirt, medal, drinks, food and all race amenities. Additionally, all runners will receive their online race photos FREE (Spring & Fall Races). This is an amenity for all runners in the Prairie Fire Race Series.

Run for Paws 5K
Lantz Tucker Memorial Fund for pets is a special fund for pets who are in urgent need of medical care.
Imagine your beloved pet has an emergency, like being hit by a car, and urgently needs vet care or he may die. But, you recently lost your job and things are tight and you don’t have $1000+ for a vet bill, no matter how much you love your dog. Or you have a job, you work hard, you work full time and it's barely enough to cover the bills. What if your only choices were to let your pet die or surrender him to a rescue so he may live?
We help those pets, and their loving owners, so that the pet doesn’t die and the owners don’t have to surrender it to get it help.
Our annual fundraiser, Run for Paws 5K will be October 7, 2023 at Frontier Park in Olathe! 100% of the money raised in our 4th annual Run for Paws 5K will be used to directly pay vets for the urgent and life saving medical care.
Since opening in April of 2020, our little fund has donated $227,793.71 and helped to keep 466 of pets in their homes, with the families who love them. We ask for nothing in return, and every single penny donated goes directly to vet bills.
This run is our only fundraiser, otherwise we operate 100% on donations.
Leave a Legacy 5K
The Spirit 5K road race is back for 2023! Make plans to join in person in Garden City, Kansas on October 6, 2023 or complete the Spirit 5K virtually wherever you choose!
The Spirit 5K is certified by the USA Track & Field Organization. These races allow individuals and teams the opportunity to win cash and prizes while honoring their loved ones throughout their epic journey to the finish line. Proceeds from the races fund the Leave a Legacy Foundation’s mission to improve cancer care resources in southwest Kansas. 100% of proceeds remain in this region. Join us in our efforts to "Leave A Legacy" by making an impact in our community.

Salt City 10K and 5K
Race through the Salt City as a part of this year’s Salt City 5K/10K races, presented by Salt City Brewing. This popular race helps to kick-off our community’s fall celebration, Hutch Fall Fest. Our event will start in front of the brewery at 514 N. Main with the 10K taking off promptly at 8a while the 5K begins shortly after at 8:15a. Participants will be officially chip-timed and eligible for age-group awards. All participants receive a medal and shirt. Additional race details will be e-mailed to participants the week of the event. Participants are encouraged to follow the Hutch Rec Race Series on Facebook.
