Time: 8:00 am
Location: 1501 N. Meridian Wichita, KS US 67203
Running

The 13th annual Race for Freedom is a 5K run/walk organized by ICT S.O.S. to benefit the fight against human trafficking. This year's Race for Freedom will be an in-person and virtual event on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, and will benefit ICT S.O.S.

In our first 12 years with this event, we have raised over $250,000 and helped to support 9 local direct service agencies in Wichita: Carpenter Place, The Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County, Youthville, Healthcare Haven, Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Family Promise, Rise Up for Youth, and ICT SOS.

Funds have been used to improve facilities, provide additional services, and make resources more readily available for victims and survivors. All funds received in the future will be used for the same initiatives. Beginning in 2021, funds have supported the Not Alone: Exploitation Awareness educational programming, Advocacy Services, and Fresh Start bags provided by ICT SOS to the community.

Are you ready to help us raise awareness and funding to stop human trafficking in Wichita? The need is greater than ever, and we're poised to meet it, with your help. We look forward to partnering with you this year. We invite you to participate in this race by registering to run, walk, participate virtually, or by purchasing a t-shirt to create real and lasting change in our city!

New for 2024:  We're thrilled to partner with Wichita Adaptive Sports. We Welcome Athletes in the Following Categories:  Youth Wheelchair Division, Adult Wheelchair Division, Youth Ambulatory Para-Athletes, and Adult Ambulatory Para-Athletes. Funds raised through the registration of para-athletes will be donated to Wichita Adaptive Sports to further their mission of making running events and other sports more accessible to more people of all abilities in our community.

If you have any questions about the race, our goals for the year, or sponsorship opportunities, please don't hesitate to contact us. We couldn't do this year after year without you, and we look forward to a wildly successful 2024 Race 4 Freedom 5K!

Marathon Course Map

General Course Description

100-mile & 75-mile Start time: 6:00AM. 50-mile Start time 7:AM Runners begin at the Start/Finish and run about an eighth of a mile to the trail head for the blue-blazed trail. Make a left turn onto the blue-blazed trail and follow it a couple hundred yards to the Sanders Mound trail. Runners take a left and do a quick 1.1 mile out-and-back to the top of Sanders Mound. From there runners get back on the blue-blazed trail and head for the Lands End aid station.

From Lands End, take the RED blazed trail for about 1 mile and then connect with the blue-blazed trail. Follow the BLUE trail and after crossing the Park road and it will turn into the white-blazed trail 3.5 miles from Lands End 1 at a point known as Cactus Ridge.

The white-blazed trail will take runners to the West Park Road aid station. From there, leave the trails and follow the signs, flags and ribbons along West Park Road, staying on the grass, to Bunker Hill. This is the Goodwin Loop. Complete the 2.5-mile Goodwin Loop, which includes a traverse of Bunker Hill, and return to the West Park Road aid station. Runners then continue on the white-blazed trail back to the Lands End aid station.

Leaving Lands End, continue on the white-blazed trail back to the Start/Finish aid station. This completes one loop of the course.

Big Loop: At the Start/Finish aid station, runners will have completed 25 miles (26.2 for marathoners)—what we call the “Big Loop.” Hundred-milers repeat the Big Loop three more times, 75-milers two more times, and 50-milers one more time.

When the trails cross: The white-blazed trail and the blue-blazed trail cross at several points on the course. The crossings will be heavily marked and signed, but it is the runner's responsibility to read and heed the markers, signs, and white and blue blazes to stay on course.

Marathon: Start time 8:00AM - runners will follow the same course as the 50, 75, and 100-mile runners, but they will run an additional 1.2 miles at the beginning of the race.

Aid Stations

The Hawk is a fully-staffed race with three aid stations, manned by experienced UltraRunners. The usual food and drink, with Tailwind and Honey Stinger products will be available at each of the aid stations. Aid stations usually offer a mix of vegan/vegetarian/omnivore options, including hot food and soups in the overnight hours. Aid station protocols will follow guidance from local health authorities and other safety precautions as necessary to protect the runners and our volunteers. Following are the locations and distances runners will hit aid stations as they traverse the 25-mile course (26.2 for marathoners).

• Lands End: 4.5 miles – no crew access, drop bags
• West Park Road: 10.5 and 13 miles – crew access, drop bags
• Lands End: 18.5 miles – no crew access, drop bags
• Start/Finish: 25 miles – crew access, drop bags

Cut Offs

CUT OFFS
The 100, 75, and 50-mile races have a Sunday 10:00am cut off for runners leaving the West Park Road aid station, after completing the Bunker Hill/Goodwin loop. This is at mile 88 for the 100-mile runners and mile 38 for the 50-mile runners.
The cut off for Lands End aid Station is Sunday 12pm, noon. This is at mile 93.5 for the 100-mile runners, 68.5 for the 75-mile runners, and 43.5 for the 50-mile runners.

To stay in the race, you must have left the aid station by the above cut off times. Volunteers will breakdown the aid station at that time, and depart. Runners continuing on their own accord past the cutoffs, and not arriving at the Start/Finish on or before the 2pm cutoff, will not be eligible for the finisher awards.

Deferment Policy

Seeing you cross the finish line is the reason we host this race. If you’ve signed up for one of the events, but are unable to safely participate in the Hawk race, runners have several options. Runners can make any necessary changes to their sign-up through Ultrasignup. Refunds are not available. We would ask that any runners making changes to their registration distance or status please send us a message through ultrasignup to make sure we are aware of the change.

Runners may contact the Race Director and transfer to a lower or a higher distance on or before August 21st. In the event a runner transfers to a higher distance, a pro rata charge will apply. No credit or refund can be given for runners transferring to a lower distance race. Runners can also "EDIT" registration on ultrasignup and change the distance; in the event you upgrade the distance the system will generate a code and prompt you to re-register for the new distance. If a race distance is SOLD OUT, you will not be able to change to the sold out distance.

The Hawk does not allow refunds. Runner cannot modify, make copies or other reproductions/replications of your number or bib for any purpose (or allow another to do so); and/or participate with an unofficial race number or bib (i.e., a number or bib that was not assigned to you by the Race Director).

DROPPING DISTANCE ON RACE DAY
Hundred milers who drop at mile 50 may receive a 50-mile finisher award, if available. YOU MUST DROP AT MILE 50, IF YOU CONTINUE PAST MILE 50 AND DROP LATER YOU WILL BE RECORDED AS A DNF FOR THE 100 MILE RACE. Runners dropping into the 50-mile distance from the 100-mile are not eligible for 50-mile 1st, 2nd or 3rd place awards. Hundred-mile and 50-mile runners may NOT drop to the marathon and will be recorded as a DNF in the race results.

DEFERRAL
Runners may defer their race entries to the following year, by notifying the Race Director on or before August 21st. The race Deferral is good for one year only. Requests for deferral must be submitted in writing to the Race Director; given the press of other preparations, runners should make sure their request has been confirmed. Deferring runners will be emailed a coupon code to use when the next year's registration opens. If a waitlist is activated in the distance, runners holding deferral coupon codes who have not already registered will be placed on the waiting list in the order of their registration.

DID NOT START
If you can’t attend, and haven’t deferred, please let the Race Directors know so your name can be removed from the starters list. You also have the option to remove yourself from the race on Ultrasignup. If you don’t show up, and don’t let us know in advance that you can’t make it, you’ll be recorded as DNS in the race results.

Overview

It is hard to get a good run in July in Oklahoma. It’s hot and humid. A great night trail run and a party is the best way around it. In addition, you want a safe venue. This run will have all that you need. With two 5k courses (one rocky single track and the other a gravel road), this run will allow all ages, genders, and ability levels to feel safe and enjoy a great run. Dark and Dirty Miles at Robbers Cave will offer distances of 5k, 10k, 25k, and 50k. Come hang out and get Dirty!

This is a night race so bring your headlamps!!!

Party Atmosphere!!

Amazing food at the start/finish!!

This is a family and friends race. Bring your chairs and canopies as everyone sets up around the start/finish because the runners come through often.

Photography

Mile 90 will be making the runners look good and capturing spectacular images for you to share. These are free with your registration. Please visit their website www.mile90.com.

Outlaw Trail Series

Complete all 6 trail runs in the Outlaw Trail Series (Outlaw, Lake McMurtry, Greater Roadrunner Trail Run, Flower Moon, Dark and Dirty, and Thunderbird) in a calendar year and receive a cool plaque to recognize your achievement. Distance is not a factor (in other words, you can run the 5K or the 135mile). Virtual options do exist that allow runners to complete the series even if they are unable to attend an event in person. An Oklahoma-shaped plaque with hooks looks great as a display for awesome medals.

Course Description

A variety of distances to choose from with offerings of 50K, 25K, 10K and 5K on rocky single track or gravel road. All distances are multiples of the 5K courses (50K is the 5K ten times) which has about 450 feet of gain. Please message us for a gpx of the course.

If you do any lap on gravel, you are considered gravel. Otherwise, you may mix and match the loops as you like.

Virtual Run

Unable to attend and still want to participate? Virtual options do exist that allow runners to obtain a coveted medal or complete the series even if they are unable to attend an event in person. We realize that other life obligations come up.

Cutoff/Drop Bags

The cut off for all events is 7am.

You may leave drop bags at the start/finish area.

Packet Pickup

Race day pick up at the start/finish from 4-6:30 pm.

Awards Policy

We work hard on our swag because we know you work hard for our swag!!! We do allow drop downs to receive the medal for the longest distance completed (but not qualify for place). Drop down medals are subject to availability. Many of our races feature a medal that is common to multiple distances with differing ribbons. A percentage of runners will receive a ribbon without distance to create flexibility and allow as many runners to participate as possible.

Discounts/Benefits

Military Discount
If you are currently active duty Military or a Veteran, we'd like to give our thanks by extending a 10% discount for your entry fee. Please message us at Outlaw 100 for the coupon code.

Child Discount (in person only)
Outlaw events are meant to be amongst family and friends. As such, any parent entry will entitle one child (15 yo and under) to a free entry of same or lesser distance. We understand that registering all the kids gets expensive so here is a chance for the kids to get a great medal and T-shirt and to be active and healthy as a family. Please message us at Outlaw 100 for the coupon code.

Volunteer Discount
Along with a T-shirt and the normal fun of volunteering, we would like to do more. It takes a community to put on quality races, but volunteers also need to be appreciated. The program will be as follows: Shifts are in 4-8 hour increments and you must sign up. If you volunteer for one shift at any of our races you will get 25% off registration for any of our future races. Distance is not a factor. So 4 shifts will be a free race.

Camping/Travel/Lodging

Camping is available on site at the Redbud Campgrounds at the start finish. Robbers Cave Cabins and the Belle Star hotel are available only a couple miles away. Wilburton has local hotels and McAlester is the closest larger town. The Tulsa International Airport is the closest airport.

Policies

You may defer (for any reason) to any of our subsequent races. Prior to registration closing, you can defer by editing your race in ultrasignup. Cancel the race and it will give you a credit to any other Outlaw event. Once registration closes, you may defer up until the Wednesday prior to the race. There will be no deferments after the race has occurred. Contact us on messenger at Outlaw 100 or by email to arrange deferments during this time period.

We do not allow transfers.

Cancellation will only be in the event of extreme circumstances (inclement weather; local, state, or national emergency) and is at the race directors discretion. If for any reason the event has to be shut down due to extreme weather, natural disaster, etc… you will be pulled from the course or held at an aid station until you can be removed from the course. Please, no arguing if this should happen. It is for your own safety. If the race has to be cancelled, no refunds will be issued.

Under no circumstance will refunds be issued.

See our website for a full discussion of all our policies.

Flower Moon 4 Mile, Half Marathon, Marathon, and 50 Mile

Date: May 11, 2024
Time: 6:00 am
Location: Pawhuska, OK, 36.731321, -96.182261
Running

Overview

The Flower Moon on May 13th with gorgeous Dreamcatcher-inspired medals!! Located within Osage Hills State Park (one of Oklahoma’s seven original State Parks), Flower Moon will offer distances of 4, 13.1, 26.2, and 50 (52ish) miles. Yes, the 50 mile is a bit long, but that buckle should make it worth that extra effort. Read the historical book, watch the Scorsese/DiCaprio movie (shooting on location at the park), run the trails, and collect the swag. We have so much planned for this trail run, including Fry Bread Tacos after the race! It is going to be extraordinary!!

Atmosphere!!

This race will be a bit different from most trail runs as runners of the varying distances should finish at similar times. With staggered starting times, all the runs are scheduled for the average finisher to complete the run around 6PM. This will allow us to all eat Fry Bread Tacos together and visit/party after the race.

Outlaw Trail Series

Complete all 6 trail runs in the Outlaw Trail Series (Outlaw, Lake McMurtry, Greater Roadrunner Trail Run, Flower Moon, Dark and Dirty, and Thunderbird) in the calendar year 2022 and receive a cool plaque to recognize your achievement. Distance is not a factor (in other words, you can run the 5K or the 135mile). Virtual options do exist that allow runners to complete the series even if they are unable to attend an event in person. An Oklahoma-shaped plaque with hooks to hang the medals will make a nice Christmas arrival next year.

Course Description

The run features a great single track course with some technical areas, but is also very runnable. Located completely within Osage Hills State Park which offers 1,100 acres, this is a beautiful run through the woods with gorgeous scenery around the lake and the old CCC camp. The half marathon has about 1,100 feet of gain running it twice for the marathon and four times for the fifty mile. Please see the course maps in the pictures above or at our website (gpx files also available) at www.Outlaw100.com.

Virtual Run

Unable to attend and still want to participate? Virtual options do exist that allow runners to obtain a coveted medal or complete the series even if they are unable to attend an event in person. We realize that other life obligations come up.

Schedule of Events

Packet pick up will start at 5 am the day of the race at the pavilion at the Start/Finish.

50 Mile start 6AM

Marathon start 12 noon

Half marathon start 2PM

4 mile start at 4pm/>
The cutoff for all distances is 12 Midnight - 18 hours (loose)

Photography

Greater Roadrunner 4 Mile, 6 Mile, and 12 Mile

Date: May 4, 2024
Time: 7:00 am
Location: 3236 OK-8A, Watonga, OK 73772
Running

Overview

This event will have a cap of 200 runners so sign up early.

The Outlaw group loves featuring our state parks!! Our newest trail run is the Greater Roadrunner Trail Run at Roman Nose State Park. Roman Nose, named after a Cheyenne chief, is one of Oklahoma’s original seven state parks. It is located just outside of Watonga (just 75 miles from Oklahoma City) in the more northwest part of the state with all that the panhandle landscape offers (or doesn’t offer—very few trees). The run will feature a 4 mile distance as well as a 6 mile loop that can be done twice for a 12 mile option. The trails are mildly technical, mountain bike style single track that winds and meanders over a rugged landscape amongst rock gardens, cactus, and cedar trees along with visual highlights of a mesa known as Inspiration Point overlooking Lake Watonga and the canyon.

Race times

The 4 miler and Challenge start at 7am, the 6 miler starts at 8am, and the 12 miler starts at 9:30am.

Coyote Challenge

For those wanting a longer distance, the coyote challenge consists of tackling all three distances: the 4 mile, 6 mile, and the 12 mile for a total of 22 miles!! Those completing the challenge will receive a medal as well as a special award. Podium awards will also be given for the lowest cumulative time.

If you finish a distance and the next distance has already started, simply start the next race. Back of the pack runners can complete the challenge as well.

An Oklahoma-shaped plaque with hooks looks great as a display to hang awesome medals

Virtual Run

Unable to attend and still want to participate? Virtual options do exist that allow runners to obtain a coveted medal or complete the series even if they are unable to attend an event in person. We realize that other life obligations come up.

Cutoff

The cutoff for all distances is 6 hours.

Packet Pickup

Packet pick up will start at 5:30 am the day of the race at the Start/Finish.

Awards Policy

We work hard on our swag because we know you work hard for our swag!!! We do allow drop downs to receive the medal for the longest distance completed (but not qualify for place).

Child Discount (In person only)
Outlaw events are meant to be amongst family and friends. As such, any parent entry will entitle one child (15 yo and under) to a free entry of the same or lesser distance. We understand that registering all the kids gets expensive so here is a chance for the kids to get a great medal and T-shirt and to be active and healthy as a family. Please message us at Outlaw 100 for the coupon code.

Volunteer Benefits
Along with a T-shirt and the normal fun of volunteering, we would like to do more. It takes a community to put on quality races, but volunteers also need to be appreciated. The program will be as follows: Shifts are in 4-8 hour increments and you must sign up. If you volunteer for one shift at any of our races you will get 25% off registration for any of our future races. Distance is not a factor. So 4 shifts will be a free race.

Directions/Travel/Lodging

Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City is the closest airport.
