Walk or run, come join us for fun! On Saturday, February 23, 2019, the 3rd Annual Walk In Sister’s Shoes 5K Run/Walk will be hosted by Bishop Carroll Catholic High School at Sedgwick County Park. All are welcome to join. This year the cost per individual is $25 with a shirt included when you register, family discounts available after 4 people.

Online registration ends on February 8th, however individuals may continue to register until the day of the race by coming in or calling Bishop Carroll (316-722-2390) and requesting Kelma Blackwell.  Individuals may also register the morning of the race from 7:30-8:30am at Sedgwick County Park.  Once online registration is closed, tshirts will not be included in the price.  A limited number of t-shirts will be available on race day for $10.

There will be two dates available for picking up registration packets early. Packets can be picked up at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School inside door #4 (the Activity Complex). Once inside the doors, there will be a table to the right where individuals and families may check-in. The following dates/times will be:

o   February 14th:   4:30 pm-8:00 pm

o   February 15th:  9:30 am-12:00 pm

**Walk/Run will take place no matter the weather. In the event the 5K is cancelled due to lack of participation, all money will be considered a donation and tax receipts can be mailed.**

Join us for the fifth annual Party for Parkinson’s 5k run/ 1 mile walk. This year's party will be held on the morning of Saturday June 17th with the race day registration beginning at 7:30 am.at the Catholic Care Center. This year's routes feature scenic views, smooth running trails and includes our newly paved nature trail all on the beautiful Catholic Life Campus at 45th St. North and Woodlawn. New this year is the ability to participate as a team. Awards will be given for the largest overall team and the fastest 5K team. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund local support groups, educational opportunities and frre community exeercise classes for those with Parkinson's disease. Pre-registerd participants will receive a Party Pack, T-shirt, and post race party featuring a Chris Cakes pancake feed. while showing your support for the fight against Parkinson’s disease.  So Lace up your shoes and help us to support the over 1 million Americans facing this debilitating disease.Be a part of Party for Parkinson’s 2017!

This event is family friendly with vendors and activities for all ages

Start and finish will be at the Horseshoe Shelter. Parking is available at any of the park lots or there will be volunteers directing parking in the area west of the shelter. Prizes will be awarded to the overall first place male and female participant in the 5k. Medals will be given to the first and second place winner in each age category of the 5k. The first occupied stroller to cross the finish line of the 1.5 mile run/ walk will receive a prize. Children will receive a medal for finishing either race

The Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon Start/Finish Line is at 455 S. Wichita St., Wichita, KS 67202. The Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon is electronically bib timed. We will be using the BIBTAG chip timing system for both the start and finish of the race. Your race number is also your "chip" for timing.
Start Time: 7:30 am
Prices include race fees, finisher’s tech shirt, medal, drinks, food and all race amenities. Additionally, all runners will receive their online race photos FREE (Spring & Fall Races). This is an amenity for all runners in the Prairie Fire Race Series.

The Kansas Rails-to-Trails Extravaganza is run on the Prairie Spirit Trail and is a beautiful “rails-to-trails” course that runs through numerous quaint little towns.
The 100 Mile, 50 Mile and 50K course start at Celebration Hall in Ottawa with a short northbound out-and-back (100mile: approx 2mi, 50mile: approx. 4mi, 50K: approx. 1mi), then travel south to their turnaround (100mile: Iola, 50mile: Garnett, 50K: Richmond) and back north to the finish in Ottawa.
The 100K, Marathon, and Half Marathon start on the trail in Ottawa and will head south to their turnaround (100K: Welda, Mar: Richmond, 1/2Mar: Princeton) and back north to the finish in Ottawa.

The course is primarily on a crushed limestone trail, with asphalt paths as you travel through each small town. Manned and unmanned aid stations will be approximately every 5 miles (with no greater distance than approximately 6 miles) and the course is easily accessible to crew. It’s a great event for first timers, as it’s a flat and relatively easy course. It’s also the perfect course for experienced runners wanting to set a PR. The atmosphere will be family friendly with plenty of places for your crew to hang out and relax while cheering you on. Pacers WILL BE allowed for the last half (approx.) of the event.

Aid Stations: Manned aid stations are fully-stocked with water, electrolyte drink & snack-type foods, unmanned aid stations with water only. Approximate distance between aid stations is 5 miles with no distance greater than a little over 9 miles between manned aid stations, all manned aid stations will have drop bag access.

This event is a 2-mile fun run that begins at Joe W. Goering Field and will take the participants around the track of the field and then on a course of sidewalk and some light gravel around the Bethel College campus. It is runner, walker, stroller friendly and meant for people of all ages. Live performances, including dancers, musicians, artists/visual art, and singers, will be occurring through the course. This event is a fundraiser supporting Bethel College Academy of the Performing Arts, its programs, and scholarships.

This is a unique race with a unique course!  The entire 13.1 mile route is on unpaved country roads.  Enjoy the natural beauty of the Kansas Prairie as you run from Smith Center to the Geographical Center of the Contiguous United States near Lebanon.  This race is certified by USA Track and Field Association.

Are you ready to get down and dirty? Come out and test your ability to run, climb, jump and crawl through several challenging obstacles in the 3rd annual Hutch Rec "Muddy Hutch 5K Mud Run" at the Fun Valley Sports Complex on Saturday, September 21st. This 5K mud run will be sure to test your strength, stamina, fitness and mental determination.

New this year, everyone will be timed and is eligible for placement awards. Start times will begin at 10:30 am, in waves of 15 participants leaving every 3 minutes. A signup sheet with start times will be on site the morning of the race at the registration table.
Early packet pick-up will be available from 12-5 p.m. at the Hutchinson Sports Arena north entrance (Hutch Rec entrance) on Friday, Sept. 20th. Participants can also pick up their packets on event morning starting at 9:00 a.m.
All paid Muddy Hutch participants will receive a race packet, t-shirt, and (1) complimentary adult beverage at the finish line. Chip timing will be provided. As a courtesy, a gear-check table will be available to hold your belongings while you are participating in the Muddy Hutch. Parking is available on site. Please register by September 2nd to guarantee shirt size.
Awards will be given out to the overall male and female finisher as well as placement awards in different age groups.

Impact the Cure is an annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run and 2 Mile Fun Walk in downtown Abilene, Kansas. It is hosted by Impact Sports and Fitness, 418 N. Broadway.

Each year, funds are raised for a cause related to breast cancer. Funds raised in 2016 will be used to support breast cancer services to include free mammography services for uninsured in Dickinson County. 

You can pre-register through this website when registration is open, or stop by Impact Sports and Fitness. You will also be able to register the day of the event, starting at 7 a.m.

5K Run

The run will begin at 8 a.m. Prizes for overall male and female 5K winners, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place 5K finishers in each age group, and participation awards for ages 13 and under.

2 Mile Fun Walk
The walk will begin at 8 a.m. Noncompetitive – just come out for a walk in beautiful downtown Abilene and help a good cause!

Again this year are the FREE kids races starting at 8:45 a.m.
There’s a 100 Yard race for kindergarten & under, Down the Block race for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders, and the Around the Block race for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.  All participants in the kids races will receive a ribbon.  The first three male and female finishers in each category will receive a place ribbon.

Wiener Dog Race                                                                           
Bring your wiener dog to add to the fun of the day and support the fight for breast cancer. This event is fun for all to watch and will be held after the run/walk and before the awards presentation.
It will be nothing too serious and for entertainment purposes. A small entry fee of $5 to enter your wiener dog will go directly to Impact the Cure. The overall “wiener” will get a small prize and every participant will receive a ribbon. The “track” will be from east to west through the Impact Sports and Fitness parking lot.

Children’s Face Painting
Look for the booth–children can get a little face art done free of charge!

Cancer Survivor Recognition Ceremony
Cancer survivors are recognized as a group prior to the run/walk.

“Couch Potato” Category
Can’t participate, but want to help a good cause? Pre-register to be a “couch potato” and receive an Impact the Cure t-shirt!

Impact the Cure will have booths with items available for purchase from vendors. Don’t forget to bring your wallet (booths will accept mostly cash and checks)! Those interested in this opportunity to promote their business are encouraged to call (785) 263-6688 by September 16. Our merchandise booth fee is $25. This fee is waived for businesses sponsoring Impact the Cure at the $250 or $500 sponsor level. We encourage selling breast-cancer related and other pink merchandise (if you have it) to add to our festive atmosphere.

What is Walktober?
Walktober is a free, community-wide physical activity initiative, encouraging you to engage in the recommended 30 minutes of activity five or more days of the week and walking is a perfect way to meet that goal.

Why Walktober?
Why do we need a designated month to put one foot in front of the other? On average, experts say, we take a fraction of the recommended 10,000 steps per day. Walking is an easy exercise that packs powerful benefits, such as weight management and blood pressure control. Walking also decreases your risk of a heart attack, lowers your risk of a stroke and even protects against hip fractures.

What do you need to do to participate:

2. Record your physical activity on the calendar card. Any physical activity counts – walking, swimming, biking, etc. Count in minutes, steps, miles – whatever is most convenient for you.

Course Information

15K Run - 7:30 Start

Composed of a flat, scenic country-road course with Coronado

Heights hill (1 mile running distance up a circular, rugged road) at the heart of the race, this is a demanding course; please train accordingly. Aid stations (water) and split times will be provided throughout the course. The starting line will be at the intersection of Main and Lincoln streets(race will head north on main); the finish line will in close proximity to the starting line.

Please Note: there is a 2 hour time limit on the completion of this course.

5K Run - 7:30 Start

The 5K Run is conducted on a flat blacktop course around town. Aid stations (water) and split times will be provided throughout the race. The starting line will be at the intersection of Main and Lincoln streets(race will head north on main); the finish line will in close proximity to the starting line.

2 Mile Walk - 7:15 Start

The 2 Mile Walk is conducted on a flat blacktop course around town. The Starting Line will be at the intersection of the Main and Lincoln streets the finish line will in close proximity to the starting line.

*No awards for the 2 Mile Walk

1 Mile Youth Fun Run - 8:30 Start

The 1 mile Youth Fun Run (ages 5-14), will be run on a flat blacktop course around town. The Starting Line will be at the intersection of the Main and Lincoln streets. The Finish Line will be in close proximity to the starting line. ALL RUNNERS will receive a medal for participating. We will not have age divisions.

Don't miss the second annual Red Hot Chili Pepper 5K & Little Pepper Run on Saturday, Sept. 30, in Newton, KS! All pre-registered participants will receive shirts and finishers medals, and all 5K participants receive a ticket to the Harvey County Chili Cookoff, which will follow the race.
Walkers and runners are welcome for this scenic chip-timed course that follows the Sand Creek bike path along the water. The race and chili cook-off benefits Harvey County United Way.
