Individuals and Teams Step Up for KIDS invites individuals and teams to participate in the 5K and/or the Memorial Walk. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Teams can compete for the Grand Team Award by raising the most money. Participating teams must register under one team name, for example Reed's Runners.
Memorial Walk For the Memorial Walk, participants are encouraged to walk in memory of all babies who have died too soon. This year baby signs will be placed on the 5K course; therefore, there will be no Memorial Bubble Release.
Packets Pre-registered participants may pick up their packets at the KIDS office, 300 W. Douglas, Suite 145, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026. 5K timing chips will be distributed with packets. Packets also will be available at check-in on the event day.
Awards 5K: Both adult men and women and youth boys and girls will be awarded for top three overall finishers. Timer Guys will time the event. Team: The Grand Team Award will go to the team that has raised the most money. Door prizes will be given away. All registered participants (runners and walkers) are eligible, but you must be present to win. Reminder: Incomplete registration information, including the liability waiver, will exclude a participant from awards.
Part of the Step Up 5K event is our memorial walk where we walk together in memory of those infants who died too soon. For those of you who have not been to Step Up in the past, we place a baby sign along the 5K route of each baby who is represented by a team.
Things to consider:
If you would like the KIDS Network to include a baby sign in honor of the infant you are walking for at Step Up, please complete the Google Form during registration.
If you’ve shared a photo with us in the past, you can visit our online memorial page at KIDSKS.org to see if your baby’s photo is already included.
If you don’t have a photo, you are welcome to share a symbol that represents your child — such as a star, rainbow, butterfly, or another image that holds special meaning for you.
Signs will be printed and placed along the Step Up 5K route at Old Cowtown for event day and saved at the Network for the following year.

Overview
Oklahoma’s Oldest Trail Run!! The race was started in 1999 by Earl Blewett. Earl saw the beauty of Lake McMurtry with its gorgeous scenery, soft, beginner friendly trail system, spectacular lake views, and reputation for having some of the best trails in the state of Oklahoma for running as well as mountain biking. In 2009 Earl turned the race over to the Tatur organization and its race director Ken Childress. Ken did a fantastic job of keeping the quality, history and tradition of the Lake McMurtry Trail Race alive. The Outlaw group began directing the run in 2019 who added their own flair, while keeping the tradition alive with the same great trails and entertaining aid stations.
Day permits (parking pass) for Lake McMurtry can be purchased at https://www.lakemcmurtry.org/day-permit.html You can either go to their office and show them your comformation and get a hang tag, or just print the reciept and leave it on your dash.
Outlaw Trail Series

Distance is not a factor (in other words, you can run the 5K or the 135mile). An Oklahoma-shaped plaque with hooks looks great as a display for awesome medals.

Please message us at Outlaw 100 for the coupon code.
Volunteer Benefits Along with a T-shirt and the normal fun of volunteering, we would like to do more. It takes a community to put on quality races, but volunteers also need to be appreciated. The Prairie Spirit Trail is a beautiful "rails-to-trails" course that runs through numerous quaint little towns. Runners will do an out-and-back, beginning in Ottawa, KS, and traveling south to Iola (100 milers), Welda (100Kers), Garnett (50 milers) or Richmond (50K), then, back north to the finish. The course is primarily on a crushed limestone trail, with asphalt paths as you travel through each town. Aid Stations: Manned aid stations are fully stocked with water, electrolyte drink & snack-type foods, including soup & sandwiches, and unmanned aid stations with water only. The approximate distance between aid stations is 5 miles, with no distance greater than a little over 9 miles between manned aid stations; all manned aid stations will have drop bag access.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? For the ninth year in a row your entire registration fee goes toward building borehole wells and providing clean water education to villages in Africa. After 8 years, we now have 51 Wichita borehole wells in Malawi, Zimbabwe, Kenya, DR Congo, Benin, Ivory Coast and more--each one bringing abundant clean water to thousands of people every day. This water is life. We use this precious resource many times each day without thought or effort. Yet many people around the world don’t enjoy this luxury because they don’t have easy access to water and possibly no access to clean water. Many women and children around the globe spend hours each day in search of water; their lives revolve around this task. Often the water they collect is contaminated and causes diarrhea, which is the leading cause of illness and death around the world. Many organizations are working to eradicate this problem by building safe wells in communities one village at a time. Access to clean water reduces illness and death, increases school attendance, builds gender equality, diminishes scarcity conflicts and improves impoverished communities. Yes, water is life.
Wichita Clean Water 5K partners with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Africa to bring life to villages through the construction of safe wells and clean water education. Many villages try to survive by fetching water from irrigation dams. Since these dams are meant for irrigation, the water is contaminated with diesel from pipes and generators. The water in these dams are further contaminated by animals, who also use this water source. Additionally, villagers bathe, do laundry and clean utensils in this dirty water. Community members often suffer from diarrhea and other waterborne diseases. Many women and children walk over 2½ miles to collect this dirty water.
Your race entry will help bring more borehole wells and water education to even more villages. You can make a life-changing difference to a community of people by registering for the Clean Water 5K and inviting your friends to join you. Together, we can install a safe well and be a part of something much bigger than ourselves.
Celebrate your love of pi... and pie! Take on the Pi Miler (3.14 miles) or the River Rotation Half Marathon on the fun, fast, and flowy Lawrence River Trails.
Want a second helping? The 16.24 mile Pi Slam combines the Pi Miler and River Rotation Half Marathon! It's the perfect challenge to add a little more distance to your day.
After the race, enjoy some pie at the finish line with your finisher's fork!
Start Time
The Pi Miler begins at 7:30 AM. The Half Marathon begins at 8:30 AM. Pi Slammers will begin with the Pi Milers and must be back at the starting line by 8:30 AM to join the Half Marathon.
Course
The Lawrence River Trails are relatively flat singletrack with a few short hills sprinkled in for fun. They are flowy and not too technical, with few roots or rocks, perfect for trail running experts and beginners alike.
Races begin at the Levee gate, go down through the parking lot, and enter the River Trails on the south (right-hand) side.
RIVER ROTATION HALF MARATHON The Half Marathon is three loops on the trails: Race Loop counterclockwise (just under 5 miles) Race Loop clockwise (just under 5 miles) 4 Corners Loop (just over 3 miles) Loop 1/2 on Strava Loop 3 on Strava
Courses are subject to change, but all races will follow very closely to the established Race Loop, 4 Corners, and/or 5K Loop routes on the River Trails. Turnarounds are marked with permanent signage and will be flagged for race day, with volunteers to help direct you.
Water, electrolytes, energy snacks, fruit, and other items will be available on the course. A smaller aid station is near the 5K Loop turnaround, about halfway through the race for Pi Milers. Half Marathoners will pass the smaller aid station during each of your loops, about 1.5 miles after leaving the trailhead and again on the way back. Half Marathoners will also have access to a larger aid station at the trailhead. You will pass it twice during the race at intervals of ~5 miles. We encourage runners to bring your own reusable hydration bottles or cups, in keeping with the Trail Hawks motto "Kindness to Life and Land". We will provide a few cups by the water coolers at the aid stations if you are in need.
If the trails are unsafe for runners or vulnerable to damage due to muddy conditions, an alternative course will be provided by the Lawrence Trail Hawks Race Directors. The alternate course will most likely be on the packed-gravel Lawrence Levee Trail.
Awards
Some races give you hardware. Pi Day gives you flatware! Enjoy your post-race pie with your finisher's fork. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each gender overall for the Pi Miler and River Rotation Half Marathon races. Pi Slam finisher will receive a special swag item. Pi Slam runners are eligible for place awards in the Pi Miler and Half Marathon. Awards will be presented at the finish line.
Cutoffs
The Pi Day River Rotation race will have an end time of 1:00 PM. This allows our volunteers to pack up in a timely manner so the Lawrence River Trails can be free for other users in the afternoon. For half marathoners, that allows 4.5 hours to complete your race (about a 20:35 per mile pace). To ensure you make the cutoff time, half marathoners must leave the aid station to begin their final loop of the course by 11:45 AM. Participants who start a loop after 11:45 AM continue on the public trails at their own risk, without support from the race.
Lawrence Trail Hawk Discount
Dues paying members of the Lawrence Trail Hawks (http://trailhawks.com/) are eligible for the Trail Hawk discount. To get your code or to become a member of the Lawrence Trail Hawks, contact RD Kate Becker.

Price Increase, Last day to sign up with a guaranteed shirt or purchase add-ons.
Finishers within their selected distance receive a finisher medal. Hundred mile finishers receive a finisher buckle.
When you select a distance, you are entering into a mutual agreement with with the race. You are committing to finish your selected distance and provide the funding for those corresponding products and services. The race is committing to order your selected distance medal, shirt size, race bib, and provide services. Many of these elements on the race side of things must happen weeks and months in advance. Therefore, "dropping down," to a shorter distance after race start, does not guarantee you will receive a finisher medal in that distance. Make sure that you are prepared to finish your selected distance by training early, consistently, wisely so that you can finish.
Top 3 humans in each distance receive an Overall Top 3 Podium award. We do not award top 3 female and top 3 male, because our results have shown that both genders are equally capable of outstanding mental and physical performance.
Participants starting a race but not finishing the intended distance will be listed as a DNF at the bottom of the results for their registered distance. Runners may not be “dropped down” to a shorter distance once they start a race, and will not appear as finishers of the shorter distance. Participants may switch distances before the start of their race and will be eligible as a finisher in that event. There are no refunds for the difference in registration cost when switching to a shorter distance prior to event start.
DNF: Runners starting a race but not finishing the intended distance, in the intended order as marked, and under the official cutoffs, will be listed as a DNF at the bottom of the results for their registered distance.
DQ: Runners must complete the course in its intended order, as marked by race officials. Any deviation from or cutting of the course may result in a timing penalty or even disqualification. Additionally, runners who are found to be excessively rude to race personnel, volunteers, or others may also be considered for disqualification. We believe in fostering a respectful and supportive race environment, and these rules are in place to uphold that.
Dropdowns: Runners may not be “dropped down” to a shorter distance once they have started a race and will not appear as finishers of the shorter distance. Runners may switch distances before the start of their race and will be eligible as a finisher in the updated race distance. There are no refunds for the difference in registration cost when switching to a shorter distance prior to event start. Drop downs do not qualify for Top 3 Podium awards or place rank.
For 2026: We do not allow early starts. You have one year to train to get your time below 32 hours for ultras, 30 hours for Saturday start sub-ultra, and 6 hours for Sunday starts. You can do it!
Doubler: Saturday + Sunday
Get a Hilltop Doubler hat when you sign up for both a Saturday and Sunday event. This does not include an event that begins Saturday and ends Sunday. This is for two separate event registrations. One event Saturday, and one event Sunday. For instance, a half marathon on Saturday and a 4 miler on Sunday. It is also possible to complete a longer distance event that is expected to start Saturday and carry over into Sunday, AND also do a Sunday event. An example of this would be a 100k that begins Saturday and goes in the early morning hours of Sunday, and then a 4 miler on Sunday. This would be 62 + 4 miles. The additional 4 miles are not concurrent. The 4 miles are consecutive for a total of 66 miles. Both must be completed by the Sunday 2pm cutoff. WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR A SATURDAY EVENT AND A SUNDAY EVENT, THE SUNDAY SHIRT WILL BE MANUALLY CHANGED TO A HAT. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE 2 SHIRTS AS WAS THE CASE AT THE 2025 EVENT.
Pace/Elevation
For 2026: Marathoners will do the Extra Magic loop (.5 mile) on their first lap only. Then all remaining 12 loops will be on the standard 2 mile loop for a total distance of 26.5 miles. The 2025 distance was 28 miles. Thanks to the Timer Guys for making this suggested course change. Elevation for the marathon will be slightly different than what is currently shown on the chart. Chart will be updated soon.
Course
Course is a mix of asphalt walking trail and dirt trails. Asphalt is in black, dirt is in brown. Very little of the dirt trail is technical. The direction will be clockwise for the duration of all event distances. Elevation is significantly less than the 2024 course. There is only 75’ of elevation per mile. Twisted Nut trail goes right next to a creek bed that the kids tend to enjoy.
Extra Magic Loop Add-on
The Extra Magic Loop Add-on is a bonus section .5 miles long. Marathoners will do this add-on on their first loop only. Then they will proceed to doing standard 2-mile loops for the remainder of the race.
This is an optional section for everyone else. It will not be reflected in your distance with the Timer Guys, but kudos to you because it will still show up on your watch or phone. The Extra Magic loop will be marked with signage. It will appear for a limited time, and then disappear. This will happen once on Saturday and once on Sunday. What magic awaits in 2026? You'll have to be there to find out.

There are not RV hookups at the race site, but there are several RV parks in the area, and a Love’s RV stop right off of the Interstate 40 Vian exit. You are welcome to car camp or pitch a tent.
Volunteers
Hilltop does not happen without volunteers. Volunteers applied for grant money to build the trails. Volunteers helped with training runs leading up to this event. We need volunteers. We have everything from helping with setup, packet pickup, course marshaling, aid station, and pack out. Join our team of magic makers. 12pm Early packet pickup at the race site, personal aid station setup, camp site setup
All who complete at least 4 miles receive a finisher medal. If you sign up for a longer distance, and decide during the event to drop down to a shorter distance, you still receive a finisher medal as long as you completed at least 4 miles. Drop downs do not qualify for Top 3 Podium awards or place rank. As noted on 3/2/2024 results provided by Timer Guys, the "a.k." note in place of a numbered place rank indicates a drop down from a longer distance. This is the equivalent of an Unofficial Finish.
All 100 Miler finishers receive a buckle.
Top 3 humans in each category receive an Overall Top 3 Podium award. We do not award top 3 female and top 3 male, because our results have shown that both genders are equally capable of outstanding mental and physical performance. The 3/2/2024 Top 3 Podiums were taken by 39% female and 61% male.
Early starts are allowed if you do not think you will have time to complete your target distance within the cutoff time. Early starts do not qualify for Top 3 Awards or place rank.
Hilltop Doubler hats are awarded to those who complete both Saturday and Sunday events. This does not include an event that begins Saturday and ends Sunday. This is for two separate event registrations. One event Saturday, and one event Sunday. For instance, a half marathon on Saturday and a 4 miler on Sunday. It is also possible to complete a longer distance event that is expected to start on Saturday and carry over into Sunday AND a Sunday event such as a 100 miler and a Sunday 4 miler. This is 100 + 4 miles. The additional 4 miles are not concurrent, but consecutive, for a total of 104 miles. Both must be completed by the Sunday 2pm cutoff.
Pacers are allowed after 50 miles. You are allowed one pacer on the course with you at a time. You may swap pacers as many times as you like, but only one pacer at a time may remain with you. Pacers are not allowed to “mule” for a participant, meaning they cannot carry the participant’s calories, hydration, or supplies. The loops are so short there isn’t any need for that anyway.

Participants dropping from an event must notify the Race Director, timing company, or one of its representatives prior to leaving the race site
The 34th annual Not 4 Wimps trail run is ready & waiting for you. We will park, start and finish at the Warren Riverview Park. The only indoor restroom facilities available will be just outside the lodge entrance. Capacity of this year's event is limited to 200 so please sign-up early. We’re bringing back chip timing with The Timer Guys. Bottled water will be provided at multiple distances on the course beginning at 3 miles. Trash cans will be available immediately beyond the water stations for empty bottles as well as nutrition packaging etc. to help maintain clean trails. The course will be well marked for each distance with all 3 distances sharing versions of the same basic course - lots of trails, lots of sand, and a little mud just to keep it fun! Our job is to make sure the course is everything that you've come to expect, your job is to bring on the fun. . . and smile - even when it hurts!
"No Frills" Race
Bottled water will be provided post-event, but your on your own for food. Feel free to bring your own goodies (toasted marshmallows are highly recommended) to share at the fire-pit as you cheer your friends through the finish-line. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to hang-out at the park - the Lodge balcony and the nearby Arkansas River Bridge provides great vantage points.
This is a timed course that is marked well, but it is still a trail course! If you don't see any course markings, you are going the wrong way! If you are not leading the pack and you come across a spider web, you’re going the wrong way! If you get lost and tack on some extra mileage, well then you got some extra bang for your buck! You're not going to get an age group medal, or a finishers medal, or a pretty shirt with this race. When you get done, we have some awesome giveaways to go along with the pride of knowing that you didn't wimp out and take the shortcut back. Feel free to also brag to your friends that you finished a challenging race in the middle of February, while everyone else is still in hibernation mode, or stuck on a treadmill wishing for some new scenery! This race is a bargain, and we want to keep it that way!

Slower participants are encouraged to begin toward the rear to avoid congestion and collision. All skill levels are welcome, walkers are encouraged to sign up for 10K or 10M as the course and timing will close at 3:00. In the event of injury, send word along with a passing runner who will relay the info to the next course marshall - first-aid vehicle will be contacted and directed to your location. The Outlaw 100 will take place at Twin Mountains in Kinta, Oklahoma. The course offers a dynamic mix of terrain, including rocky climbs, creek crossings, runnable jeep roads, and steep powerline ascents. Runners will even get the chance to follow a historic stagecoach road. With over 2,000 feet of elevation gain on a 13-mile loop, the course promises to be both fun and challenging.
Each entry comes with a t-shirt, and hoodies are available for purchase separate
Outlaw Trail Series
Complete all 6 trail runs in the Outlaw Trail Series (Outlaw, Lake McMurtry, Flower Moon, Dark and Dirty, Liberty’s Lost Treasure, and Thunderbird) in a calendar year and receive a cool plaque to recognize your achievement. Distance is not a factor (in other words, you can run the 5K or the 135mile). An Oklahoma-shaped plaque with hooks looks great as a display for awesome medals.
Outlaw 135
There has been increased interest in longer distances, especially the 200-mile races. This is a nice intermediate to test yourself and develop strategies for those longer runs. Same Saturday morning start time for the 100-mile run with a 48-hour cutoff (see cutoffs in the section below).
Outlaw 100
The Outlaw 100 features a challenging 13-mile loop completed eight times, with each loop offering over 2,000 feet of elevation gain. By the time you conquer the full 100 miles, you’ll have tackled an impressive 17,500 feet of total elevation gain. The course is known for its highly technical terrain, packed with rocks and moderate climbing, all at an altitude of around 1,000 feet.
This is not your typical rails-to-trails or gravel road event, which explains the generous cutoff times. Depending on pre-race rainfall, water crossings—where you’ll absolutely get your feet wet—may also add to the adventure. Get ready for a race that’s both challenging and rewarding!
50 Mile, Marathon, and Half Marathon
The half marathon is the 13.1 mile loop. The marathon consists of two loops and the 50 mile consists of four loops (thus the 50 mile is about 52ish miles). Cutoffs for the 50 mile, marathon, and half marathon (all races aside from 135 and 100 miles) are 10Pm Sunday night. This gives 39.5 hours for the 50 mile and 14 hours for the Sunday half and full marathons.
5K
One of the most scenic 5ks in Oklahoma.
Run it on Saturday or Sunday.
Doublers will receive an Outlaw special item. You must complete a distance of a half marathon or more on one day and at least the 5k on the other. One run must be in person.

Child Discount (in person only) Outlaw events are meant to be amongst family and friends. As such, any parent entry will entitle one child (15 yo and under) to a free entry of same or lesser distance. We understand that registering all the kids gets expensive so here is a chance for the kids to get a great medal and T-shirt and to be active and healthy as a family. Please message us at Outlaw 100 for the coupon code.
Volunteer Benefits Along with a T-shirt and the normal fun of volunteering, we would like to do more. It takes a community to put on quality races, but volunteers also need to be appreciated. The program will be as follows: Shifts are in 8 hour increments and you must sign up. If you volunteer for one shift at any of our races you will get 25% off registration for any of our future races. Distance is not a factor. So 4 shifts will be a free race.
Deferal / Transfer Credit (to a different race)
If you can no longer run the event you registered for, we offer the below-sliding scale prior to the originally schedule race date for receiving credit to a different Outlaw event. We do not offer refunds, deferrals, or transfers - only future race credit. The credit will only be useable by the original registered participant and only for Outlaw events. Unless otherwise stated, credits will be valid for two years from the original event date. Credit will be the amount paid minus taxes and fees. Transfers are a one-time opportunity. You cannot re-transfer a previously transferred race. Once credits have been issued, they are gone. This includes any credits used from volunteering, race credits, previous credits, or credits transferred. The submission date will be used to calculate the credit amount.
90-days out (or more): 100% credit
30-89 days out: 75% credit
Less than 30 days: No credit
Lodging/Travel/Parking
Camping will be available at Twin Mountains for 20$ a night. Wilburton has local hotels and McAlester is the closest larger town. The Tulsa International Airport is the closest airport.

Dropdowns/DNFs?DQs
Runners starting a race but not finishing the intended distance will be listed as a DNF at the bottom of the results for their registered distance. Runners may not be “dropped down” to a shorter distance once they start a race, and will not appear as finishers of the shorter distance. This ensures a fair event where runners know their competition and cannot be lowered in place by a runner dropping down in distance. Runners may switch distances before the start of their race and will be eligible as a finisher in that event

Wichita's Premier Road USATF certified 1 mile race.
The time has finally come to figure out how fast you can actually run a mile. Test your top mile speed once each season, collect milestones, and receive awards for Age Graded PRs.
We break this race up into waves based upon runners estimated pace so runners can be pushed towards their PRs without worrying about fighting through crowds while being pulled along by athletes of a similar caliber.
When
This year is the OG event and will take place October 26th, 2025 starting at 8 am for the first wave and no later than 11:45am for the last wave. Following years the race will occur once each season. The Spring and Fall will take place two weeks after Prairie Fire so runners can test their top mile time while they are in peak fitness and hopefully while fully recovered from Prairie Fire. The Winter and Summer will take place a couple weeks before Track/XC start so the student athletes can participate and get a good preseason time trial in.
Where
This years event will be taking place at Sim's Park. Primary parking is the large lot between the river and Botanica on Sim Park Drive right next to Cowtown. (pending Botanica's green light). This will also be the finish line. Start line will be closer to the golf course parking lot. There will be a marked shortcut between the two locations.
