Independence is proud to host the Neewollah 5K, 10K, and Fun Run this year. Featuring a certified 5k and 10k course, the run offers a great opportunity for runners of all experience levels. Fred Fest 5k & Fun Run

Textron Aviation’s 5k & Fun Run

The Textron Aviation 5K & Fun Run 2019 will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5, preceding the events of the Textron Aviation Employee Open House. All attendees of the Open House are invited to participate. Proceeds from this event will go to the 2019 UPLIFT fundraising campaign.

He’s coming. After a year of living dangerously in pandemic cyberspace, the Say Grace Thanksgiving Race Pilgrim is preparing to break free of his COVID confinement and return to the streets of Midtown Wichita. That’s right, fellow pilgrims, Wichita’s largest 5K race will be reemerging this fall (barring any currently unanticipated health restrictions). So rise up, racers, and leave all the binge watching and Zoom meetings behind. Register your family and friends starting September 6th, then scrape off the digital rust and come run with us.

Girls on the Run
At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
KUS 6/12/24 Hour Run
The course is a 2.1 mile loop at Cessna Activity Center in South Wichita near Oliver and George Washington Blvd (2744 George Washington Blvd, Wichita, KS 67210 is entrance into park). The trail is grass/dirt and includes a wooded section and very little elevation change on each loop. The course is a great place to set a personal record! How many miles can you run? It’s up to you! The event will be chip-timed by the Timer Guys. Details on that below. The parking lot can be accessed off George Washington Blvd.
Love Life Run
The Love Life Run is a 10K / 5K / 1 mile event to support the Open Door Pregnancy Care Center in Hutchinson, KS. People of all ages and skill level are invited to participate in this great event for a great cause! The 2017 Love Life Run was very popular and we had an overwhelming response! We are looking forward to seeing more participants register for this year’s event, which will be offering the following:

Course
The race starts and finishes at Shelter 1, Corp of Engineer. All runners will run west on the white trail before turning south on yellow. Runners will ascend and descend the ridge of Sanders Mound and then run north on yellow. All runners will then access the white trail and continue on the white trail.
10K RUNNERS – you will access the Lake Henry Aid Station and return back on the blue trail. You will run the mound again and then finish at Shelter 1 / Start Finish.
25K/50K runners will continue on the white trail to the first connector trail past MILE MARKER 9 (9.19 on the Clinton Lake Map). The runners will access/ run down the connector trail to the blue trail (mile 5.59) and continue back on the blue trail to the finish line.
25K RUNNERS – ONE TRIP TO THE MOUND AT THE BEGINNING
50K RUNNERS – TWO LOOPS OF THE 25K COURSE = A TRIP TO THE MOUND AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH LOOP.
25k/50k runners are required to carry a handheld or hydration pack. Drop Bags are available at Lands End and Start/Finish Aid Station.
Mid-America All-Indian Center and Friends Culture Dash 2018
Come join us for this 10K running, 5K running/walking, and 1 mile fun walk event on Saturday, November 3rd that celebrates our past by honoring Day of the Dead and Memorial Ceremonies, while shaping our future by encouraging participants – from the littlest to the oldest – to pay attention to their health and celebrate every part of who they are, and who they represent in today’s multicultural community.
For those who are fueled by competition, the Culture Dash 10K is a chip-timed race that begins at 9:30 a.m.at the feet of the Keeper of the Plains and runs along the Arkansas River. Kansas Rails-to-Trails Extravaganza
The Kansas Rails-to-Trails Extravaganza has beautiful courses that run through numerous quaint little towns. All distances are run on USATF Certified Courses. Runners will do an out-and-back, beginning in Ottawa, KS and travel south to Iola (100 milers), Welda (100K), Garnett (50 milers), Richmond (50K & Marathon), or Princeton (Half), then back north to the finish. The course is primarily on a crushed limestone trail, with asphalt paths as you travel through each town. Manned and unmanned aid stations will be approximately every 5 miles, and the course is easily accessible to crew. It's a great event for first timers, as it's a flat and relatively easy course. It's also the perfect course for experienced runners wanting to set a PR. The atmosphere will be family friendly with plenty of places for your crew to hang out and relax while cheering you on.

Flatlander Half Marathon & YP5K
ABOUT THE RACES!
Join us in Great Bend, Kansas for the 6th Annual Flatlander Half Marathon & YP5K on Saturday, October 16.
They start and finish near Jack Kilby Square in downtown Great Bend
Each participant receives a race T-shirt, a swag bag of goodies from our sponsors, a complimentary breakfast and with free finish-line photos published on our Facebook page after the event.

HALF MARATHON - 13.1 Miles
Zip along on our SUPER FLAT course around and through Great Bend, KS.
It winds through two city parks, our hike and bike trail, and beautiful tree-lined residential streets. Ample restroom facilities are made available at the starting line and at the park pavilion and hydration stations are available roughly every three miles.
Awards will be presented to the top male and top female finishers in five age groups (13 to 18, 19 to 25, 26 to 35, 36 to 49, 50 and Over). All half marathon finishers will receive a medal.
5K (3.11 miles) & 10K (6.22 miles)
Join us at Jack Kilby Square for a well-marked scenic route through Great Bend that includes Brit Spaugh Park, residential areas and our historic downtown.

Prairie Fire Marathon
The Prairie Fire Marathon is a USATF Certified Race and a Boston Marathon Qualifier (Certification #KS13034TR). It is the RRCA State of Kansas Championship Marathon. The start/finish line is at 455 S. Wichita St., Wichita, KS 67202. The Prairie Fire Marathon is electronically bib timed. We will be using the BIBTAG chip timing system for both the start and finish of the race. Your race number is also your "chip" for timing. The Prairie Fire Marathon promises a fast and exciting course taking runners through the heart of Wichita. While on the course, runners are able to view Wichita’s exciting entertainment district as well as the beauty of some of the nicest residential areas the city has to offer.
Chicago Marathon
2021 Application
Planning for the 43rd running of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is underway with the goal of returning to the streets of Chicago on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
Event organizers are working closely with the City of Chicago, including the Chicago Department of Public Health, to safely produce a race weekend experience for event attendees and the Chicago community. Preparations for the October 2021 race will align with Chicago’s re-opening framework, including strict adherence to local and state coronavirus guidelines.
2021 Guaranteed and Non-Guaranteed Application Window
The 2021 Bank of America Chicago Marathon guaranteed and non-guaranteed entry application window closed at 2 p.m. (Central Time) on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Individuals who are interested in participating in the 2021 Chicago Marathon can secure an entry through one of the limited guaranteed entry opportunities still available. In order to gain access to an available guaranteed entry, applicants must agree to the terms of the entry or qualify for the entry.
The 2021 Bank of America Chicago Marathon American Development Program reached capacity on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. The application is now closed.
Non-guaranteed entry drawing
Non-guaranteed entry applicants for the 2021 Bank of America Chicago Marathon will be notified of their selection on Thursday, March 25. Applicants will be selected from the full pool of non-guaranteed entry applications. Prior to the drawing, the event will remove all duplicate applications.
Applicants will be notified via email of their entry status on Thursday, March 25. If an applicant receives an entry through the drawing, the entry fee is automatically processed.
Individuals who applied for, but do not receive an entry through the drawing, may still register by opting to run for select official charities or tour groups.

- U.S. residents (those who live in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or other U.S. territories): $205 (USD)*
- Non-U.S. residents: $230 (USD)
Applicants must provide credit card information as a part of the application process. The entry fee is processed automatically when an application is approved or selected through the drawing.
When completing the application please use a credit card that has an expiration date of April 2021 or later.
* A processing fee is applied to all entry fees.

Athletes with Disabilities Program

Event requirements
- Participants must be 16 years or older on race day.
- Participants 16-17 years of age must have permission from their parent or legal guardian permitting them to participate in the race. This permission is given during the application process.
- The Bank of America Chicago Marathon requires that participants be able to complete the 26.2-mile distance in six hours and 30 minutes (6:30:59). The marathon course will reopen for public use on a rolling schedule based on this time limit.
- The sale and/or transfer of race entries/bib numbers is strictly prohibited.
- All registration fees and ancillary purchases are nonrefundable.
- All participants are required to pick up their own participant packet (bib number and timing device) at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo during the scheduled hours of operation. Additional information about the 2021 Abbott Health & Fitness Expo will be available in the coming months.
- All participants are required to show a government-issued photo ID upon picking up their own participant packet.
- All participants acknowledge the inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists and is beyond the control of Event Organizers. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
- All participants must be familiar with and abide by the event rules.
