Cup of Hope 5k & 1-mile Run/Walk

Cowley House of Hope (CHOH) has secured a location for a homeless shelter and is currently raising funds toward renovating the location to meet the needs of homeless women, men, and children. Through a partnership with local running group, Story of a Runner (SOAR), the first Cup of Hope 5k and 1-mile Run/Walk for all ages will take place at Shepherd's Grace Church with a course utilizing the hike and bike path and Veteran's Memorial Lake.

Proceeds from the race will benefit CHOH's initiative to bring a much needed service to Cowley County. Additional donations are welcome and can be made through your race registration! 

Red Kettle Run

Maple Leaf Gravel Grind

Saturday, October 23rd will mark the 3rd annual Maple Leaf Gravel Grind.  This will be an in-person ride in 2021 and we will offer 3 separate routes, a 16, 35 and 70 mile option that will highlight the beautiful fall foliage in and around Baldwin City, KS.  Each rider will receive a custom medal and t-shirt included in their entry.  All races will be timed by the Timer Guys.     

Proceeds will be split between Prairie Paws Animal Shelter in Ottawa, KS and the Baldwin City Recreation Commission's scholarship fund.

For the 70 milers, we will offer a cash prize for the top 3 riders in each the male and female category:

1st place  $100
2nd place  $75
3rd place  $50

Ottawa Bike and Trail will once again be onsite offering light maintenance as well as swag for sale.   They will also be raffling a brand-new bike and tickets will go on sale closer to the event.  Prairie Paws Animal Shelter will be on site with animals available for adoption as well.         

In addition, all riders that sign up will be eligible for an exclusive ticket buying opportunity to the Maple Leaf Beer, Wine and Spirit Fest that will be taking place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. that day in Sullivan Square (at the start-finish line).  The ticket will include beer, wine and spirit samples, light appetizers as well as food for purchase.

REGISTRATION: Registration forms are available at the CCA school office or may be printed and dropped by with payment. You may also register online (A $3.00 processing fee will be applied to online registrations) by going to our CCA website – www.ccalions.org (News & Events).  Online Registration closes September 23rd at 11:59 pm. You can register the day of the race on-site beginning at 2:00PM AM (Cash or Check only).

Individuals registered PRIOR to September 15th will receive a CCA Lions Pride Race Shirt – please indicate size when you register. Registrants on or after September 14th are not guaranteed race shirts. On race day, shirt quantity/sizes will be limited – on a first come, first serve basis to registered runners.

PACKET PICK UP: Registrants may pick their packets up at CCA Thursday, September 26th from 3:30 pm - 4 pm or Friday, September 27th from 8:15 am - 8:45 am. Packets may also be picked up the day of the race, Sunday, September 29th.

Both races will be chip-timed for accurate personal timing provided by Timer Guys.

AWARDS: The top male and female 5K finisher will receive an Overall Winner Medallion. Medals for 5K runners will also be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age division:  Ages 10 & Under; 11-15; 16-20; 21-25; 26-30; 31-35; 36-40; 41-45; 46-50; 51-55; 56-59; 60 & Up. Every race participant will receive a CCA Lions Pride Race Ribbon.

CCA JR. CROSS COUNTRY AWARDS: Medals will be awarded.

SPECTATORS: Family and friends are welcome to cheer on the runners near the 5K finish line and the 1 Mile Fun Run!

OUR MISSION: Central Christian Academy is a K-9 Christian school serving over 350 families in the Wichita area. CCA is located at 2900 N. We are beginning our 38th year of partnering with the Christian home and local church to educate and equip students to reach their full academic, physical and spiritual potential in Jesus Christ. Proceeds from the CCA Lions Pride Races will help fund student academic enrichment.

WEATHER CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:  Safety of the participants is the top priority of the races and sponsoring organizations. In case of inclement weather, the event may be delayed up to one (1) hour from the original start time, changed to a non-timed and non-competitive event, or canceled, depending on the severity of conditions. Due to the costs of putting together an event of this magnitude, no refunds will be given. Refunds are not given for any race cancellations prior to race day.

Out of the Darkness Wichita Walk

SCKMC LandRush

Categories:Kids 2K Fun Run - 8 - 14 years of age. This is an untimed event with six obstacles designed for all ages, including several water obstacles. Start time is 11:00 a.m.

5K: 15 - 25 years of age; 26 - 39 years of age; 40 - 54 years of age; 55+ years of age. The 5K race includes 12 obstacles of varying level of difficulty, including several water obstacles. Multiple heats starting at 9:00 a.m.

10K Gravel Road Cycling Race: 15+ years of age. Includes a combination of paved street and gravel roads. Course begins and ends at SCKMC. Start time is 10:15 a.m.

17K Gravel Road Cycling Race: 15+ years of age. Includes a combination of paved street and gravel roads. Course begins and ends at SCKMC. Start time is 10:45 a.m.

5K Run Fees: $25 ($30 after 7/31/18) + $2.50 timing fee; Kids Run Fees $10 ($15 after 7/31/18); Cycling Race Fees $25 ($30 after 7/31/18) + $2.50 timing fee; Run/Cycling Combo $45 ($55 after 7/31/18) + $5.00 timing fee.

The funds raised will benefit South Central Kansas Medical Center, and all money raised will be used as the foundation for growth and development of the services they provide, such as equipment purchases, physician recruitment, and program enhancement.

Superhero Hope 5K/1Mile

Come join us for our annual SuperHero HOPE 5K Run/Walk and Family Day!

​We will start a 5K race at 8:00 AM and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will kick off at 9:00 AM. All proceeds will benefit Hope for Hemophilia to help families living with chronic illness find resources. Come run for those who cannot run for themselves!

Svitak Freedom Ride

Life lost in the mountains of Afghanistan, memory survived through his love of cycling. Take a ride with Phil's family and friends to remember those lost in battle and bring joy home to kids for Christmas! Proceeds from the Svitak Freedom Ride goes to buy bikes for children of military families at Christmas time. We have a goal of 50+ bikes every year.

Tiger Pride 5K

Light Up The Night 5K For CHI Richard Young Behavioral Health

Senior Services Heartland 5K Walk/Run

Senior Services, Inc. of Wichita is dedicated to offering programs that allow older adults the opportunity to lead quality lives while continuing to make positive contributions to the community. We invite you to join us for our 1st Annual Heartland 5K/1 mile Family Walk, taking place on Grandparents Day; Sunday September 8, 2019. The race course for this event was created especially for Senior Services, and is a CERTIFIED COURSE, beginning and finishing at our Downtown Senior Center located at 200 S. Walnut.  The one mile family fun walk will begin at 8:30am followed by the start of the 5K at 9:00am.  After the completion of the event we hope you will join us for breakfast provided by Chris Cakes from 8:30am-11:30am inside the Senior Center.  Breakfast is free to all paid race entrants. Family and spectators can eat for $6.00 a plate.

Special 5K "Master Rate" for those runners aged 50 and above.  Age awards will be awarded for 1st-3rd place for ages up to 49.  Age awards will be awarded for 1st-5th place for ages 50 and over. (Ages are awarded in 5 year increments). 

Proceeds from race registration and the pancake breakfast benefit the programs of Senior Services of Wichita.
