The Down Syndrome Society of Wichita is here to serve individuals with Down syndrome and their community including medical professionals, educators, supporters and of course families! We’re dreaming big for Down syndrome and hope you will consider forming a team for this year’s event or participating in the 5K event!
The Buddy Walk® is a one-mile leisure walk followed by lunch and fun activities! Over the past 13 years, the event has included bounce houses, clowns, music, dancing, games, face painting, basket drawings, photo booth, and much more! The purpose of the Buddy Walk ®is to help promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. It is an inspirational and educational event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.
Last year’s Buddy Walk ®was a huge success! We had over 2,500 walkers and raised over $87,000! This fun family event would not be possible without our participants, donors, sponsors, and the dedication of our Buddy Walk®Committee. We are looking forward to a great day of celebration.
